The marine layer is back in full force on the Central Coast this Tuesday morning. I’m sipping dark roast, icing the lower back, and staring down the upcoming sports slate. The Belmont Stakes high hasn’t worn off, but we are officially moving from the racetrack back to the fairways.
The Shinnecock Setup and Dan’s Delusions
The 2026 U.S. Open tees off this Thursday at Shinnecock Hills out on Long Island. It’s one of the oldest, most unforgiving links-style courses in the country. Naturally, Big Boy Dan thinks he has the entire field figured out.
After burning his bankroll on Renegade at Saratoga, Dan is desperate for redemption. He’s convinced that
Scottie Scheffler is an absolute lock, but he’s also throwing wild prop bets at a handful of unproven sleepers.
I told him to check his legal footing before he starts wiring his remaining funds all over the place. The sports betting landscape in this state is a complicated labyrinth, and I always consult the top guides for

I’m waiting to see how the coastal wind plays before I lay down any of my Golden Tempo winnings. Shinnecock’s fescue can eat a golfer alive if that Atlantic breeze picks up.
Silver Prints and Archival Obsession

I’m holding with diamond hands. The cloud revolution is paying for the darkroom chemicals, the ATV fuel, and whatever U.S. Open bets I decide to lock in on Thursday morning.
