Well boys…

The sun isn’t even fully awake yet and somehow I am—heading toward Pebble Beach with my AMEX clutched like it’s a life raft. First stop is the pro shop, where I’ll be purchasing rain gear I absolutely didn’t plan for and will later claim was “part of the strategy.” Coastal golf waits for no man. Especially not me.

I’ve got the lowest handicap in the group at an 11, which sounds impressive until you realize the weather is about to turn this round into a character-building exercise. Wind, mist, attitude—conditions are going to be spicy. I don’t need to win; I just need to filet enough golf shots to justify the trip and emotionally recover from my Georgia losses. Small victories. Tiny victories. Maybe just one victory. I’m flexible.

Now, while I’m mentally preparing to donate a few golf balls to the Pacific like offerings to Poseidon, let’s talk Quinten Ewers—the new starting QB for the Miami Dolphins. Over on TheRx.com, we broke this situation down like a bunch of guys pretending not to care while caring deeply. You don’t load up on him in his debut… but I’ll tell you right now, he’s going to shock some folks.

He’s a fox. A stat-fox. The kind of QB who stays calm, reads the field, and quietly ruins your assumptions. There’s been some solid discussion on the BMR forum about benching Tua and inserting Ewers, which is bold— but bold seems to be the theme this week. Right up there with bad weather, questionable decisions, and overpriced rain jackets.

Stick around. If I survive Pebble Beach, I’ll report back. If not… check the tide charts.
