Big Boy Dan, Einstein, and the Ethiopian Princess: A Weekend of Revelations

Welcome back to caviews.com. If you caught my last post, you know that whenever Big Boy Dan comes over to hang out at Pat’s Luxury Unit, things inevitably take a turn toward the profound, the ridiculous, and everything in between. This past weekend was no exception. Between a bottle of Jack Daniels and a whole lot of tech support, Dan and I managed to solve the mysteries of the universe — or at least, we thought we did.

The Relativistic Big Bang: Stretching Time

We picked up our ongoing debate about the origins of the universe. I’ve always been a Relativistic Big Bang fellow. I look at creation strictly through the lens of Einstein. To me, the whole concept of creation is fundamentally about the fabric of space-time stretching out from a single point. Dan was having trouble wrapping his head around the timeline, so I broke out a napkin and explained the “red code” — the cosmological redshift and the stretching of time. I explained that if you factor in the extreme time dilation caused by the near-infinite gravity of the initial singularity, the passage of time is vastly different depending on the observer. I walked him through the math to show how six days at the “source” could equate to billions of years from our modern perspective on Earth. The core math relies on the cosmological time dilation formula, which relates the time interval observed now to the time interval emitted at the source:

Δtobserved = Δtemitted × (1 + z)

Because the universe has expanded so massively, the redshift factor (z) from the initial singularity approaches infinity. Therefore, an incredibly brief period of Δtemitted (let’s say six days of creation) multiplied by that massive stretching of space-time results in a Δtobserved of roughly 16 billion years on our clocks today. Dan’s jaw dropped like a sledgehammer on an anvil. We sat there in silence for a solid five minutes. We were both amazed, feeling like we had just invented something that Einstein literally wrote an entire book about decades ago. Honestly, with revelations like that, we might just need to start our own Bible class.

Tech Support and Harsh Realities

After solving the cosmos, we had to tackle some more terrestrial problems. Dan handed me his smartphone, which was behaving like it was possessed. I successfully removed Dan’s virus, but in doing so, I had to break some seriously bad news to the big guy. I had to look him in the eye and explain that his “Ethiopian princess” was, in fact, a scammer — and she is absolutely not sending him a wire transfer for $20 million. He took it about as well as you’d expect. Which is to say, he needed another drink.

The AI Portfolio Check-In

Feeling financially burned by his fictitious royal bride, Dan pivoted to his real-world money. He told me I had some “splain to do” regarding my massive AI positions. He’s been piggybacking on my portfolio for a while now and claims he is currently “getting killed” in the market. He started sweating over the recent sideways movement in MSFT and AMZN and was genuinely worried about the heavier plays in DELL, GOOG, and PLTR. I just shook my head. I reminded him that long-term holds in absolute tech juggernauts like ACN and IBM require patience — not panic. I poured us both one last round, pointed at the table, and told him that as sure as that bottle of Jack Daniels will be dry in less than an hour, those stocks are heading straight for the north star. You just have to hold the line.
